These roasted cabbage steaks are not only quick and easy to roast in your oven, they’re also healthy, low carb, keto friendly, vegan, cheap to make, and delicious!
Cabbage is not a vegetable that you tend to think of when it comes to dinner unless you’re making a salad, but it’s incredibly tender and yummy when baked in the oven. It complements just about anything from chicken and steak to bbq and seafood.
Once roasted, the inside becomes tender with a crispy outer layer!
How To Roast Cabbage In The Oven
Start off by trimming the stems off a small cabbage, and then cut it into 4 flat 3/4 inch thick discs. You may be able to get 5 discs depending on how large your cabbage is.
Next, line your cabbage patties onto a parchment lined baking sheet and brush both sides with a generous amount of olive oil.
Season both sides with salt, garlic powder, and smoked paprika.
Bake in a 400 degree oven for about 25 minutes or until the centers are tender and the outer leaves turn golden brown.
Serve hot right out of the oven. I know they don’t look like much, but the texture and flavor is incredible! I love the combination of the crispy outer leaves and the soft middle.
