How To Turn Frozen Bananas Into A Healthy Dessert
Break out your blender or food processor to make this popular, tasty treat with just fruit! Bananas are naturally sweet and loaded with fiber, potassium, and vitamins. Ingredients Needed
- Frozen sliced bananas
- Any optional flavor enhancements such as other frozen fruits, juice, peanut butter, cocoa powder, maple syrup, honey, milk, cinnamon, vanilla, etc.

Blending the Bananas
- Simply place sliced frozen bananas into your blender or food processor and slowly blend until smooth. You may need to scrape the sides down with a spatula as you go. If you allow the bananas to slightly thaw for about 10 minutes, you shouldn’t need any additional liquid.
- Another option is to add the liquid of your choice until you get the consistency you like. A few options include water, almond milk, oat milk, cow’s milk, chocolate milk, orange juice, etc.
- At this time you can also add optional flavorings such as peanut butter, cocoa powder, vanilla extract, cinnamon, or other fresh or frozen fruits such as strawberries or peaches. Anything that pairs well with banana!

Instructions

Notes
Sliced bananas are best frozen in a single layer so that they don't stick together, making them easier to blend. I recommend placing them on a parchment lined sheet pan and then transferring them to a freezer bag or container. Even easier, you can also place them in a large Ziplock bag, keeping them loose and in a somewhat single layer before freezing. Basically, you just don't want them all bunched up in a blob before freezing!
